The ALANA would like to make you aware of a slight change in process for CRNAs in Alabama who are recertifying this year. For the 2015-2017 recertification cycle there is a two-step process: 1) you must complete the recertification application on the NBCRNA website and 2) you must request that verification of your recertification be sent to the Alabama Board of Nursing.
The NBCRNA has provided a link to State Board of Nursing Notification process on the website. Certified Nurse Anesthetists can request that a verification be sent to a state board of nursing by logging into the NBCRNA website. Once you have logged in, select “Requests” and choose “State Board of Nursing Notification” from the dropdown menu. There is no fee for this service. You will receive email notification from the NBCRNA within 24 hours that they have sent your verification to the ABN.
If you completed both steps and do not receive your new advanced practice license, we recommend contacting the Alabama Board of Nursing to ensure that they received notification of your recertification.
