2021 SPRING MEETING UPDATE
Dear ALANA and fellow CRNAs,
As we welcome this much awaited new year, we have continued to watch COVID hospitalizations rise and our healthcare systems strain to provide the necessary care and resources to patients, families, and fellow healthcare workers. We are all exhausted and desperate for an end to this relentless pandemic and the sacrifices it has imposed.
Your ALANA Board of Directors have continued to closely monitor things as the Professional Development Committee plans our annual Spring and Fall meetings. In light of the continued threat imposed by the virus and it’s strain on hospitals throughout our great state and nation and following both state and national recommendations, the Board has made the very difficult decision to cancel our 2021 Spring meeting in Destin. The threat remains too real and the consequences too great. Please know that this decision was one we have not taken lightly. We long for the day when we can safely resume our wonderful in-person meetings.
We will once again be providing an online opportunity for CEUs. We are currently in the process of putting together another great virtual educational meeting and will have details and information soon. Despite our shared pandemic fatigue and frustrations, we remain hopeful and optimistic that this will soon be over and we can all enjoy a return to a sense of normalcy.
Looking to the future with hopes of decreased cases of Covid and a healthy membership, we have scheduled our Fall Meeting at the Hilton Sandestin. Please plan to join us 9/24/21 - 9/26/21 for a great meeting! We are very excited for an “in person” and look forward to seeing you all in September.
Thank you all for the incredible care you unwaveringly provide and for rising to the unprecedented challenges we have all faced.
The ALANA Board of Directors and Professional Development Committee
